Lorraine was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She worked at Weaver Potato Chip Company where she met her husband, Mike. They were married October 2, 1964. They had 2 children, Kevin Ray and Angela Rae. After being a stay-at-home mom, she went to work for Lincoln Public Schools in the cafeteria. She then went to work in hospitality at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center as well as Gramercy Hill where she befriended so many of the residents she cleaned for. She worked for Nebraska Book Company for 6 years before retiring. Lorraine was a charter member of Southwood Lutheran Church where she enjoyed volunteering in many ways including greeting, delivering meals on wheels, helping serve meals for funerals, baking communion bread, and being on the Care Team with her husband Mike calling on those who were unable to make it to church on Sundays. She enjoyed reading, visiting family, sewing, snow skiing and waterskiing, cooking and baking and making scrap books.
Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Florence Kapustka and sister Darlene Kapustka, parents-in-law Ernest and Edna (Beckman) Eisenhauer, brother-in-law Paul Varnado and nephew Tyler Varnado.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Mylon (Mike), children Kevin (Tricia) and Angela (Chris) Snowardt, grandchildren Adam (Megan), Cameron, Kaylee, Christian, Caleb, Lainee, Carter, Callum, Sabrina (Wes), Nicholas (Tavionna) and Cheyenne, Brothers Ron (Judi) Kapustka, Robert (Sharon) Kapustka, Mike Kapustka (Martha), Sisters-in-law Janet (Larry) Damme, Judy (Arlin) Brinkman, Kathy Varnado (Stephen), Brother-in-law Dean (Maria), many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 28 at Southwood Lutheran Church, 4301 Wilderness Hills Blvd, Lincoln, Nebraska. Burial will be at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Burr, Nebraska on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 1:30 PM.
Visitation with family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive.
