He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Wilson) Swanson; daughter, Circy Gastman (Michael); son, Charles Swanson; grandchildren, Sydney Gastman, Brett Gastman and Fenway Swanson; brother Duane Swanson (Roine), brother Ron Swanson (Terri) and a host of nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered as a kind, loyal, and sincere man with a warm smile who genuinely loved talking with people. He loved to travel and remained a devoted Husker fan throughout his life.
A Celebration Gathering will be on Sunday, August 9, from 3-5 p.m. at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 O Street.
