Dr. Coleman had such an influence on my life & career as an educator. She was an advocate for students and the role of excellent teachers in their lives. She once told our Education class at NWU, “If the students aren’t learning it’s because you as teachers haven’t taught them.” This resonated with me so much & I have always carried it with me throughout my career as a teacher and leader. I send my condolences to her family. She was truly a special person. God bless!

I always enjoyed your Mom’s wonderful smile. She didn’t always talk much but that smile always came through. When she was on 5th floor she was also generous with the hugs. I always told her those hugs made my day!! once in a while she would say “good”. Cherish your memories and let them sustain you all through your hours of grief. Prayers and peace to all of the family.
