Lois Ann Carpenter

September 28, 1945 - May 16, 2025

Lois Ann Carpenter, 79, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. She was born on September 28, 1945 in Fairbury, Nebraska; the daughter of Anton and Phyllis (Smith) Stofer. She married John Carpenter on April 18, 1965.

Lois graduated from the Lincoln School of Commerce and worked in various jobs for several different entities over the years. She was awarded the honorary title of Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska for her work as an administrative assistant for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Lois was active in her church for many years, serving in multiple volunteer roles. After retiring from the work force, she spent several rewarding years volunteering for Domesti-Pups. Lois possessed a keen sense of humor and was a wonderful cook. Some of her favorite hobbies included knitting and sewing. Lois loved spending time with her family, friends and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 60 year John; daughters Amy (Kent) Kopetzky, Julie (Ben) Neill; grandchildren Peter Neill, Nicholas Kopetzky, William Neill, Emma Kopetzky.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28th at New Visions United Methodist Church, 1610 S 11th Street in Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for distribution according to Lois’ wishes.
