Lee Roy Pester, 77, of Denton, NE, passed away on November 29, 2020. He was born January 27, 1943 to Boyd and Senora (Schnirl) Pester in Lincoln, NE and resided in the Lincoln area his entire life. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960 at age 17. Following graduation, he joined the Army National Guard. While in the Army National Guard, he worked with his father farming and painting houses. In 1965, he started working as a trailer mechanic for Burlington Northern Transport for 25 years, followed by another 5 years with Eagle Systems. During this time, he was also co-owner/operator of Pester Airport. Upon leaving Eagle Systems, Lee was engaged in various businesses including Lee Pester Scrap Tires of which he owned and operated for 20 years and various land development projects.
As a young man, Lee had many passions including riding motorcycles, flying planes, hunting, and bull riding with Salt Creek Wranglers. In March of 1966, Lee married Alice Jean Allen and they were happily married for 54 years raising four sons.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jean (Allen) Pester; sons, LeRoy Pester of Denton, Larry (Cheryl) Pester of Fremont, Ron (Kari) Pester of Sellerburg, IN, and Daniel Pester of Denton; grandchildren, Nate and Seth Pester of Omaha and Monica Pester of Denton; sister Lois (Lou) VanAckern of Casa Grande, Az; brother Roy Pester (Carolyn Gassert) of Sun City, AZ; brother-in-law Arthur (Carletta) Allen of York, NE; sister-in-law Nancy (Richard) Eggerling of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law Deb Allen-Griffin of Lincoln, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are his parents Boyd and Nora Pester, bother Eddy Pester, nephew Lance Pester, daughter- in-law Terrie Pester, and brother-in-law Larry “Skip” Griffin.
Private family graveside burial will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery in Denton, NE, Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
