LaVerne ‘Cookie’ Evelyn Cook, 95, formerly of Lincoln, passed away September 15, 2015 in Milford, NE. Born on August 6, 1920 in Lincoln, NE to Alvin O. Johnson and Charlotte ‘Lottie’ M. (Vallery) Johnson. A 1938 graduate of Havelock High School. Member of the Daughters of Rebekah, Order of Eastern Star and the Heritage League Women’s Club. She was a cosmetic buyer for Miller & Paine for over 30 years.
Survived by her children, Randi (Cook) Hamilton (Jim), and Casey Cook (Carolyn); Five grandchildren: Heather (Hamilton) Mulcahy (Michael), Brian Hamilton (Angie), Asha Caine, Keenan Cook and Weston Cook; 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. William H. Cook.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday (9-19-15) at Wyuka Cemetery. Please use the Vine street entrance.
