Larry S. Kennedy Sr.

July 27, 1939 - December 2, 2024

Larry S. Kennedy Sr., 85, of Lincoln, passed away on December 2, 2024. He was born on July 27, 1939 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to LeVerne and Mary Ellen (Davis) Kennedy. He spent his career working as an over-the-road truck driver. Larry served in the Army during the Vietnam War and later became a Post Commander for the Otoe County American Legion Post #8. He was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary #2634. Larry was a NASCAR fan who enjoyed coin collecting and he had a deep love for John Wayne.

Family members include his sons Larry Kennedy Jr. and Samuel Kennedy; daughters Mariana Peyton and Erin Kennedy; sister Elaine Kennedy; and numerous grandchildren. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, sister Billie Jean Kennedy Cole, brother Arthur Kennedy, and sister Roberta Kennedy Chnider.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road in Omaha. No visitation to be held.
