Larry Michael Elam

July 7, 1941 - June 6, 2025

Larry Michael Elam, 83, passed away on June 6, 2025, in Lincoln Nebraska.

Born on July 7, 1941 Larry was a lifelong resident of Lincoln and a graduate of Lincoln High School. He dedicated over 35 years of service to the State of Nebraska Department of Roads, where his commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression.

Larry found great joy in the outdoors. He spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and camping activities that brought him joy and lots of stories. A skilled mechanic and welder, he also enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in creating and repairing things throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbare Elam. Larry is survived by his children; John Elam of Lincoln; Teresa Elam of Lincoln; and Mike Elam of Urbandale, Iowa and their families.

An informal celebration of Larry’s life will be held in the garage of his residence beginning at noon on Saturday, June 14.

Memorials may be made in Larry’s name to The Grace Space hospice at 1740 Superior Street, Lincoln, NE.

Larry lived a fulfilling life doing what he chose to do and surrounded by family. He deeply appreciated those who were always willing to lend a hand, a value her carried throughout his life. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
