Larry Bronson Stark, 93, formerly of Ceresco, died August 17, 2025. He was born April 21, 1932, in Lincoln, NE to Christian and Wilma (Moss) Stark. Larry was a member of the Ceresco United Methodist Church and Ceresco Legion Post 244.
Larry graduated from Ceresco High in 1950 and played on the first Ceresco 6-man football team. He won a pair of slip on boots from Cliff Bendz’s grocery store for making the first touchdown for the Ceresco Eagles. He served in the US Army from December of 1952 to October of 1954. He was a Korean War veteran.
He returned from Korea and married his high school sweetheart Patricia LuJean Quick on April 27, 1955 at the Ceresco Methodist Church.
Larry loved travel and adventure with Pat. Trips took them to China, Germany, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, Alaska and Hawaii. Adventures included a helicopter ride at Mount Rushmore and a hot air balloon ride over the farm for Pat.
After Larry retired from farming in 1994, he spent many hours with woodworking and stained glass projects (making rocking horses, tiffany lamps and much more). He also spent a lot of time with lifetime neighbor and friend, Ralph Olson. They enjoyed making homemade breads from wheat and corn that they ground fresh from their fields. Larry also enjoyed sharing homegrown apples and homemade salsa and peanut brittle.
Larry was always excited about new technology like digital cameras, the first handheld calculators, and learning new computer software. Watching Husker sports on TV was another favorite pastime.
Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandkids fishing, roasting hotdogs at bonfires, target shooting, playing pitch, chess and other board games and attending many of their school activities.
