In the late 1990’s I met Kurt through Deb Ferguson, his former partner & mother of his son, James. Over time Kurt & I became “baseball buddies”. Kurt was a serious fan of Husker Baseball. Kurt & I attended several games each season. We had a running dispute regarding Husker Baseball vs. Saltdog Baseball. Kurt remained a loyal Husker fan & I was never able to convince him to attend a Saltdog game with me… Over the years we celebrated many holidays, birthdays & other milestones. I know that come this December I won’t be making silly jokes about his annual gift to me. A bottle of The Glenlivet. Kurt was a quirky yet quality friend. Loyal, & irreverent, fun, & frustrating, and kind. Kurt’s passing has left a hole in a number of people’s lives. I’m glad he was my friend. I’m going to miss him.

I enjoyed visiting with Kurt. He was caring and compassionate, he listened, and offered great advice, and had a great sense of humor. I found him interesting and fun and fun-loving. I’ll remember him fondly. Sending caring thoughts to James and his family and friends.

– Sincerely, Sheila Goetz

I had the pleasure of attending Heelan High School with Kurt. I’m sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his son and all his friends and family. It is always very difficult to hear the loss of another classmate. May he Rest In Peace and fly with the angels!
