Kim met her Husband Craig (me) way back in 2002, where we both worked at TAGTMI. (Kim always loved the story of how we met and started dating). She worked on a life insurance servicing team, while I worked in IT. After I met her, I made it my mission to take all her IT tickets so I could talk to her and get to know her better. And what do you know? It worked. We purchased a home together in Lincoln and were eventually married in June of 2006. (thanks to our special friends who owned TAGTMI for providing us the opportunity to work there and meet each other).
We eventually moved out to Waverly, my hometown, in March of 2010, where Kim opened a daycare and operated for several years and our kids started/continued school. She loved kids, had a passion for helping animals, and absolutely loved working outside in the yard and spending time with family and friends.
Kim’s battle with Cancer started in October 2020. She fought long and hard for 4 years before passing. Kim found comfort in her and our ability to keep it light and find humor during her fight against this challenging disease. Showing her fight, Kim was part of a legal process advocating for cancer patients and the struggles they see with receiving reasonably priced medications and their availability. She got to speak about this at the State Capitol! Kim did this during her time getting treatment so not only did she want to fight for cancer patients, but Kim was also completely run down from chemo and still had the heart to try to make it better and fight for others.
She is survived by her husband Craig, kids Atoria, Remy, Milo, Christina. Parents Don and Linda, brothers Blake (wife Susan), Jerrod, Aaron (wife Kristen). Kim was preceded in death by her mother Tina and brother Shawn. Several special friends helped a lot and comforted Kim along the way, you know who you are, and you will always have a special place in our hearts.
