Kenneth R. “Kenny” Andersen

June 25, 1947 - August 22, 2021

Kenneth R. “Kenny” Andersen

Kenneth R. “Kenny” Andersen, 74, of Lincoln, passed away on August 22, 2021. Kenny was born in Nelson, NE, on June 25, 1947, to Robert Ray Andersen and Rosella Jean (Frahm).

He was a barber until long hair came in style and later dedicated nearly 40 work years to Purina. Kenny enjoyed golf, having a beer with friends, and an occasional trip to a casino. At family gatherings, he would mysteriously enter through the back door and then later depart without announcement. But, he would not let this desire for anonymity stand in the way of his generosity. Uncle Kenny was always up for taking his nephews hunting or fishing. He once volunteered to take two young nephews to Pershing Auditorium for a memorable night of WWF pro wrestling. He liked to tease the people he cared about. He might scare you by flipping his eyelids or joke that you couldn’t have any of “his” fresh baked rolls at Thanksgiving dinner. He’ll be remembered for his quick humor and contagious laugh.

Family members include his mother, Rosella Andersen; sisters, Linda (Joseph) Maloley and Shirley Fisher; Nieces and Nephews, Tina Fisher, Dan Fisher, Jeff Jones, Chris Jones (Amy Jae), David (Karah) Maloley, Matthew (Katie) Maloley and Alyssa (Corey) Ragole; great-nieces and nephews, Bailey, Ava, Tess, Jereth, Jackson, Sophia, Olive, Bennett, Ben, Cooper, Charlie, Livia, and Layla; great-great nephew Brantley. He is preceded in death by his father, sister Joyce Andersen, brother-in-law Lonnie Fisher and great-nephew Avery Jones.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday 8/26/21 at Southwood Lutheran Church, 4301 Wilderness Hills Blvd. Visitation is 1 hour before the service. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Southwood Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to Roper and Sons Funeral home.

Following the Lincoln City Mask Mandate and the COVID-19 recommended guidelines, masks are required for all in attendance.
