Joy Langston, 62, Lincoln, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (12-26-10). She was born (8-20-48) in Lincoln to Amos and Eleanor (Greenwade) Andreasen.
She and her husband celebrated 44 years together last August. Joy was a lifetime resident of Lincoln and graduate of Lincoln High School. She received her LPN degree from Southeast Community College. Joy worked for Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in the nursery and NICU for over 33 years. She loved children and taught Sunday school and Bible Study Fellowship to preschoolers for 20 years. Joy also volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Center for 20 years and Matt Talbot cooking and serving meals with her church. She belonged to St. David’s Episcopal Church for 30 years.
Family members include her husband Eugene; sons, daughters-in-law: Timothy and Mark, Bejamin and Joanna Langston; daughter, son-in-law: Michelle and Fred Bernt; 10 grandchildren; sister, brother-in-law: Diane and Dave Spomer; brother, sister-in-law: Ron and Jean Wise. Preceded in death by parents, son Christopher, step-father, aunts, and uncles.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, (12-30-10) at St. David Episcopal Church, 8800 Holdrege. Fr. George Benson officiating. Burial at a later date at the Hopewell Cemetery in Burr.
