John W. Rife

March 7, 1947 - February 28, 2011

John W. Rife, 63, Lincoln, went to his heavenly home in the presence of loving family and friends on Monday (2-28-11). Born (3-7-47) in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Orville and Ava (Hand) Rife. John and Susan were married November 30, 1974 at the United Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Their son Jonathan was born May 1991 in Oregon City, OR. Machinist at the former Bruning Company in Lincoln, formerly a machinist for the Warn Industries, Milwaukie, Oregon and the Parker Hannifin Company in Lincoln. U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Member: Sheridan Lutheran Church and the American Motorcycle Association.

Family members include wife, Susan K.; son, Jonathan M. Rife, Lincoln; sister, Paula Craft, Mt. Horeb, WI; mother-in-law, Ruth Ninneman, Lincoln; brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, Earl and Joann Ninneman and Lee Ninneman, all of Lincoln; niece, spouse, Susan Craft-Larson and Jim Larson, Lexington, MA; nephews, spouses, Jeff and Julie Craft, Waunakee, WI, Kent and Kurt Ninneman, Lincoln. Preceded in death by parents, brother-in-law Gene Craft.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday (3-5-11) Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd. Pastor Greg Bouvier, officiating. 1:00 p.m. interment in Wyuka Cemetery with full Military Rites.

Memorials to the family for future designation.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday with family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street and one hour prior to service at the church.
