John W. “Bill” Rotert, 88, of Lincoln, died Wednesday (12-18-13). Born (4-8-25) in Sutherland, NE to Frederick and Maggie (Rhoades) Rotert. WWII U. S. Navy Armed Guard Veteran. Ret. 1987, after 42 years as a Carman for Burlington Northern Railroad. Member of Loyal Order of Moose; V.F.W. Post #3606 and DAV.
Family members include his wife, Lenore; sons, Clifford “Jerry” (Bonnie) Rotert, Fremont, NE, John Rotert, Jr.; daughter, Pam Rotert; daughter-in-law, Sharon Bulin, all of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Dylan Rotert, Michelle Adam, Micki (Brett) Dufoe, Cory (Melissa) Rotert; great grandchildren, Jacob and Andie Bartzatt, Addyson, Emily, and Tristyn Adam, Kit Rotert, Bailey, Colin, and Addysen Dufoe; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and nephew Matt Engel.
Funeral Service: 3:00 pm Monday (12-23-13) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Michael Ryan officiating. Private family interment.
