John Robert (Bob) White, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was born in Lincoln on June 25, 1927 and departed this life to be with his heavenly Father on January 31, 2012. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Bob married Dorothy (Wurm) White on July 6, 1947. Member for 61 years of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen. Foreman for Olson Construction Co., co-owner of White Bros. Masonry, and owner of Bob White Construction Co. Member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #1.
He is survived by wife, Dorothy, Lincoln; children, Linda (Michael) Bracket, Detroit, Kathy (Steve) Dickey, Rich (Kathy) White, Jim (Theresa) White, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Kristen (Jeff) Strickler, Megan Bracket (fiance, Erik Strang), Bryan Dickey, Benjamin Dickey, Gregory White, Tyler White, Jeremy White; great-grandchild, Tyson White; brothers, Donald (Jody) White, Jerry White and Vesta Mitchell; brothers-in-law, John Wurm, Lincoln, Roy Schwarzkopf, Minneapolis; sisters-in-law, Fran Wurm, Violet Wurm, both of Lincoln. Preceded in death by parents, Pearl and Irene White, parents-in-law, Wilhelm and Elisabeth Wurm.
Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Wildbriar Ln., Lincoln. Burial: Wyuka Cemetery.
Visitation: 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, with family from 6 – 8 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ St., Lincoln; and one hour prior to service Saturday at church.
