John R. Young, Jr., 86, Lincoln passed away July 6, 2022. Born March 16, 1936, on a farm in Lexington, MO to John R. and Helen (Rohring) Young, Sr.

John began his 40-year banking career as a loan officer working his way up to president, retiring in 2000.

John was a member of the Sesostris Temple of the Shrine, Jesters and Masons Lodge.

Family members include his daughters Debbie (Doug) Everett, Sheri (Bob) Michaud, Christy (Kim) Killingsworth, and Cindy Hagen; grandchildren Katie Everett, Ellie (Justin) Davies, Brie Everett, Ryan (Erin) Michaud, Adam Michaud, Christopher (Laura) Killingsworth, Michael Killingsworth, Jonathan Killingsworth, and Elaina (Lincoln) Burch; 7 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, both wives Elaine and Connie.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday (7-11-22) Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive. Livestream at roperandsons.com/livestream.

Sheri and Bob Michaud and Family: I was taken aback and saddened to see the obit for your father John in the Journal Star! It brought back memories of our shared trip to Olmeca Presbytery in Mexico many hears ago! I appreciated getting acquainted with John at that time. May you find peace in all the good memories your family is sharing at this time of grief which is so much a part of life, but you can rest assured your dad’s life was a life well lived!
