John R. Rogers, 76, Lincoln, died Sunday (2-5-12). Born (3-13-35) in Hot Springs, SD to Elmer (Buck) and Mary (Spearman) Rogers. He retired from Lincoln Public Schools as a music teacher and conductor of the Junior Youth Symphony. A former Commander 43rd Army Band and past president of the Lincoln Education Association. John received his undergraduate degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University and his graduate degree from the University of Nebraska.
He is survived by daughter, Jamie (Bob) Hosler, Lincoln; son, James R. (Meg) Rogers, College Station, TX; grandchildren, D.J. , Katie, Megan and Jack; special friend, Wilma Boles.
There will be a private family service.
