John R. Lemke, 60, Bennet, died Thursday (2-23-12). Born (1-16-52) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Robert and Norma (Clark) Lemke. Ret. Firefighter for Lincoln Fire Dept. for 30+ years. U. S. Army Veteran. Lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church Walton, served in the Army National Guard for 20+ years, member of Bennet American Legion Post and V.F.W. Post 4626 and a volunteer in the American Flag Program for Lancaster County.
Family members include wife, Diane; daughter, Amber and son Robert, all of Bennet; sister, brother-in-law, Mary and Ron Juricek, Lincoln; brothers, sister-in-law, Mark and Bonnie Lemke, Paul Lemke, all of Walton; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Jennifer and brother Carl.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday (2-27-12) Trinity Lutheran Church, 5315 South 162nd Street, Walton, NE. 68461. Pastor Robert Wentzel, officiating. Burial in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
