John Glen Bulling

July 31, 1958 - July 18, 2025

John Glen Bulling 66, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday July 18th 2025. He was born on July 31, 1958 to George and Janet {Parris) Bulling.

He was 1 of 6 children who were raised on the family farm in rural Waverly where he continued to live for his adult life with his wife and 3 children. He graduated from Waverly High School in 1976 where he was an active and lifetime member of the National FFA. He also enjoyed photography, scuba diving, square dancing and was a square dance caller with the Chicks and Chasers Club and Cross Trailers Club. At a square dance in Goehner, Nebraska he met the love of his life Susan Blauhorn. They were married on September 11th, 1982,  at Archer Zion United Methodist Church and celebrated their 42nd Anniversary.

John had a passion for farming and raising hogs which he did fulltime until December of 1989. He then started his new career with the City of Lincoln where he worked for 35 years. He retired on May 7th of this year. John kept his farming roots by continuing to put up hay, straw, being a Wilson Seed dealer, raising show cattle with his children. He also worked and drove a truck for the Bundy family and enjoyed helping on the family pumpkin patch.

He was very active in the community, volunteering as a firefighter and a certified EMT with the Waverly Fire Department. He also volunteered with the Lancaster County Election Board. He was a member of Bethlehem Covenant Church and Cross the line Church where he was re-baptized on December 12th,  2021.

John loved traveling and camping with his family, where he took his kids to Ranger talks with campfire popcorn and teaching them about the history of places they went. He especially loved the mountains, waterfalls, lakes, forests and The National Parks.
He loved his 6 grandchildren and being involved in their lives. He was a master of Dad jokes, pranks , making them laugh and smile. He also loved to spoil them and watch them grow. He greatly appreciated his church family and playing cards with his friends at Card Club.

Those left to cherish John’s life are his beloved wife Susan and their children. Daughter Amanda and husband Josh Kadavy of Ashland and their children Jacob and Anna. Daughter Jeana and husband Jared Nelson of Ceresco and son Ciptyn. Son Daniel and Jenna Bulling of Waverly and their children Colton, Henry and Rose. He is also survived by his siblings Abdulaziz Bill and Naimi Bulling, Patty Haggard, Peggy Rada, Julie Oehlrich and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by George and Janet Bulling and Brother Steve Bulling.

Susan, my Dad, Bill Parrott, was a family friend and helped with repair of farm equipment. I only met John once,  but it was a funny time with John and Bill telling jokes. Sorry for your loss.
