Janet (Lau) Sullivan, 94, of Lincoln, died Thursday, (5-16-13). Born (10-31-18) in Lincoln, NE the daughter of the late A. C. and Margaret (Honeywell) Lau. Educated in Lincoln schools, graduated from Dana Hall, Wellesley, Massachusetts, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Katharine Gibbs, New York City. Member of Mortar Board and Delta Gamma Fraternity. W.A.V.E.S. (USN) Supply Corps, 3 yrs, LT. (j.g.).
Married John J. Sullivan, Jr. and resided in Boston area for 45 years. Established the Massachusetts Society to Prevent Blindness; Member Quincy (MA) League of Women Voters; Old South Union Congregational Church, South Weymouth, Chairman of Boards of Finance and Deacons; Wollaston Golf Club; First-Plymouth Congregational Church; Country Club of Lincoln; Nebraska Women’s Golf Association; Nebraska State and Lincoln Quilt Guilds; Flatwater WAVES; Associate member, Tenth Mountain Division; An Admiral in the Navy of the Great State of Nebraska; and a rabid Nebraska fan (football, women’s basketball and softball).
Survived by nephew and wife, Robert B. and Jan Weber Lau, Lincoln; nieces and husbands, Elizabeth Milligan and Curtis Anderson, Savannah, GA, Margaret Milligan and Donald Ackerman, Durango, CO, and many grand nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Lorraine R. Lau. Preceded in death by husband, John J. Sullivan, Jr., sister, Susan (Lau) Milligan, and brother, Robert H. Lau.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (5-20-13) First-Plymouth Congregational Church, 2000 ‘D’ Street.
