Janelle Darice Brown, 88, Lincoln, widow of Gardner Brown, died Friday, February 21, 2014. Retired Welfare Dept. worker for the State of Nebraska. Born 4/14/25 in Broken Bow, Neb. to Clinton and Esther (Shores) Conrad. She was a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served in many capacities, 50 yr. member of O.E.S.
Family includes: children and spouses, Janelle King-Turner, James Brown & Catherine Landis-Brown, all of Lincoln, Jacquie & Vincent Young, St. Louis, Mo., Major Judith & Lt. Col. Alvin Barney, Staten Island, N.Y., Laurel Brown, Dallas, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nephew, Robert Hutcherson. Preceded in death by sister, Shirlie J. Hutcherson.
Funeral services 10 a.m., Thursday (2/27/14) at Quinn Chapel A.M.E., 1225 So. 9th St., Lincoln, NE 68502.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Roper & Sons Funeral Services, 4300 ‘O’ St. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.
