Jan K. Mahlman, 79, of Lincoln passed away August 6, 2018. Born May 13, 1939 in Hallam, NE to Alvin and M. Joyce (Druliner) Mahlman. Graduate of Northeast High School and received her Master’s degree from UNL where she was a member of the Phi Delta Gamma sorority. She taught first and second grade at Meadow Lane Elementary school for 35 years retiring in 1995. Janet was a member of the Great Plains Community Church, and was a life member of Lincoln Education Association, Nebraska State Education Association, National Education Association and UNL Alumni Association. Janet was a volunteer at the Lincoln Education Association Harvest of Books.
She was a Husker fan, loved watching game shows on TV, reading (especially mysteries), and eating at the Olive Garden.
Survived and remembered by her special friend Donna Borgman, other musician friends and many other friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Great Plains Community Church, 3700 Vine Street. Those attending please dress in Husker red.
