James E. “Jim” Courtney, 75, of Lincoln, passed away October 28, 2015. Born March 23, 1940 in Ottumwa, IA to Wilbur Evans and Etta Marguerite (Fulcher) Courtney. U. S. Navy Veteran. Ret. 1997 as Salesman at Zee Medical Services (15 yrs). Member of Christ Place Church. An avid Cornhusker and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
Family members include her daughter, Anne (Mike) Stalker, Lincoln; son, James (Gina) Courtney, Gothenburg; grandchildren, Michelle Stalker and Jeff Stalker, Lincoln, Kristina Courtney, Grand Island, Cheyann and Montannnia Courtney, North Platte; sister, Jackie (Gerald) Starr, Des Moines, IA; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Vandenberg, Albia, CA, Beverly Sterling, Knoxville, IA; brother-in-law, sister-in-law, Richard (Lily) Sterling, Knoxville, IA; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Preceded in death by parents; wife Karen; daughter Nancy Courtney; sister Anita Stokes.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Christ Place Church, 1111 Old Cheney Rd., with Pastor Nathan Kroll officiating. 1:30 p.m. burial in Grand Island City Cemetery.
