Jim passed away on February 15, 2025, in Omaha, NE. He was born on March 28, 1970, in Maryville, MO. He attended Lincoln Southeast H.S. and Doane College. He worked for Sutherland Lumber for 14 years and in 2004 while working in Louisiana was in an auto accident leaving him with a severe TBI. He resided at QLI in Omaha from 2004 present.

He is survived by parents Karen and Ron Barker, Lincoln; sister and brother-in-law Kristi and Cory Shaw, Cincinnati; nephews Nicholas Shaw, Omaha, and Mason Shaw, Cincinnati.

Preceded in death by grandparents Ruth and Dave Barker, Rose and Lou Masek.

Jim was a dear friend to my son Jon. He spent time in our home and we enjoyed him very much. He helped us arrange a family ski trip to Colorado and we all spent a week together that our family will always remember. Deepest condolences to Jim’s family.
