James A. Bogenreif, 59, Lincoln, died quietly in his sleep at home Friday (10-7-11). Born (5-14-52) in Fremont, Nebraska to Everette and Dorothy (Konecky) Bogenreif. He was a Master Plumber since 1976 and co-owner of Knight’s Plumbing until 2006.
Jim was an accomplished wood worker, jack of all trades, master of them all. He loved fishing and working in his shop. He was a collector of tools, and expert in small engine repair. He loved to take things apart and put them back together even bigger and better. His family thought he was the best plumber in Lincoln.
Family members include his wife of 37 years, Linda (Engel) Bogenreif; daughter: Julie Bogenreif and fiancé Phil Lopez, Kansas City, KS, daughter, son-in-law: Jenni and Matt VanCleave, Richmond, VA; brothers, sisters-in-law: Joe and Kim Bogenreif, Jefferson, SD, Tim Bogenreif, Nick and Jean Bogenreif, all of Fremont, Bob Bogenreif and Jack McCormick, Red Cloud; sister-in-law: Nancy Bogenreif, Fremont; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law: Tom and Shelley Walklin, Lincoln, Chris and Christa Engel, Doniphan; father-in-law: Robert Engel, Grand Island; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was eagerly awaiting the arrival of two grandchildren, Julie and Jenni’s children. Preceded in death by parents, beloved brother Mike.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (10-12-11) St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1940 South 77th.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday with family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Private cremation services to be held by the family at a later date.
