Hodson A. Hansen

May 12, 1917 - January 21, 2010

Hodson A. Hansen, M.D., 92, Lincoln, died Thursday (1-21-10). Born (5-12-17) in Minden, Nebraska to Grover H. and Helen B. (Hendricks) Hansen. Practiced OB/GYN starting in Lincoln in 1953, retiring in 2002. WWII U. S. Navy Veteran. Graduate of Minden High School in 1935. Attended UNL Medical School and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Married Marilyn Vestal on May 19, 1956 in Lincoln. Member: First Presbyterian Church, Zodiac Discussion Club, Past Member, American Medical Association, Nebraska Medical Association, American College OB/GYN, Central OB/GYN Association.

Survived by his loving family, wife: Marilyn E.; daughters, sons-in-law: Jane and Douglas Willhoite, Leawood, KS, Nancy and Clifton Tennison, Knoxville, TN; grandsons: David Willhoite, Los Angeles, CA, John Willhoite, Leawood, KS, James and wife Melissa Tennison, Knoxville, TN, Michael Tennison, Winston Salem, NC; great grandson: Isaac Tennison. Preceded in death by parents.

Celebration of Life Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (1-26-10) First Presbyterian Church, 17th & F Streets. Rev. Don Steiner officiating. Private prior family interment.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to Matt Talbot Kitchen,1911 R Street (03), Peoples City Mission, P.O. Box 80636 (01) or the Church.

Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
