Helen A. Waldman, 101, Lincoln, died Thursday (9-30-10). Born (2-22-1909) in Center, Nebraska to Albert and Ethel (Wright) Halvorsen. Homemaker. Worked at Williams Nursery in Lincoln. Loved gardening, canning, crocheting, camping in the mountains and traveling.

Family members include daughters, sons-in-law: Darlene and Eldon Stithem, Lincoln, NE, Jeannene and Denis Kerkman, Tilden, NE; grandsons, spouses: Rick and Nicky Wolf, Sarasota, FL, Michael and Vicky Wolf, Petersburg, NE; 5 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister: Arlene Miller, Sparks, NV; sisters-in-law: Charlotte Halvorsen, Lincoln, NE, June Halvorsen, TX. Preceded in death by husband Louis; brothers Russell, Harold and Lester; sisters Margaret Uecker and Lela Olsen.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday (10-4-10) Warren United Methodist Church, 1205 North 45th Street. Rev. Dr. Wayne Reynolds officiating. 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (10-5-10) burial in the Winnetoon Cemetery, Winnetoon, Nebraska.

Memorials to the family for future designation.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

when my grandmother and sister and aunt went back to Boston by train we stopped and visited Helen, my grandmother is Arlene miller. I remember the sound the cicada bugs made and how terribly hot it is in Nebraska
