Harry Thomas Abbott

Harry Thomas Abbott, 89, Lincoln, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 22nd. He was born April 17, 1928 to Thomas and Corona (Yandt) Abbott in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. He was a playful and deeply caring brother to his three siblings, Reg, Al and Anita. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was also involved in the Royal Canadian Army Signal Reserve Force as a Lieutenant. Harry worked for Brunswick Corp. in Lincoln, NE and it was there that he was granted two patents. Harry was very active in his church as a dedicated board member for the Christian Science Church in Lincoln, Nebraska; Daytona Beach, FL; and Blowing Rock, NC as well as the Beech Mountain Country Club.

During his school years and throughout the rest of his life, Harry was passionate about sports. He enjoyed being a player as well as a supportive spectator. He loved basketball, hockey, bowling, curling, tennis, baseball and golf. He loved investigating, building and creating and gave himself wholeheartedly to everything he did. Harry shared a huge zest for life and loved to travel and take in all the charm and beauty that this world has to offer! He enjoyed family vacations and trips both local and abroad with his loved ones; this brought him a great deal of joy and pleasure. He lived a full and rich life; one that he enjoyed telling others he was exceedingly grateful for. Harry was a man of integrity and honor, a loving and devoted father, husband, friend and gentleman.
