Harry “Dale” Giebenrath

May 26, 1932 - January 15, 2025

Harry “Dale” Giebenrath, 92 of Davey Nebraska passed away peacefully January 15, 2025 surrounded by family. Born in Lincoln, NE to Walter and Emma Giebenrath he attended Waverly High School, class of 1949 and continued to stay in touch with surviving classmates until his passing. Dale served in the US Army 1952-1954 and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska during the Korean conflict where he was a mechanic. He’s a member of the American Legion Post #371 in Valparasio, NE. After his Army service he returned to Nebraska and held employment at Western Electric in Omaha, US Postal Service sorting mail in Lincoln, UNL Poultry Division on East Campus, all while he ran his family farming operation up until the end of his life. Dale has been a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Davey NE for nearly 38 years.

Dale was a loving father and grandfather to all his family. He enjoyed spending time with them all. Especially his Great-grandson Wyatt and his recent Great-granddaughter Camille. Anyone that knew Dale knew he loved farming, working with his cattle (even up to his death), and his dogs. Over the years he had 3 different rat terriers named “Penny” and gained Maggie and Sandy to add to his list. At the end he had his farm cats to look after as well. Dale was a friend to all his neighbors and farmers around.

He is survived by daughter Teresa Muff, Crete NE and her children Tasha (Justin) DeKok, great granddaughter Camille, Grand Island NE; son Anthony Muff, Crete NE. Daughter Kathy Andelt, Pleasant Dale NE
and her children Amber (Rocky) Lubbers, Western, NE; Cassandra (Kurt VanLaningham) Andelt, great grandson Wyatt, Clatonia NE. Son Randy Giebenrath, Davey NE. Last living cousin Norma Jean Patterson, Plattsmouth NE. Many nieces and nephews and longtime friends.

Preceded in death by parents Walter and Emma Giebenrath, brothers Willard (Gerelda) Giebenrath, Harold (Esther) Giebenrath, son-in-laws Dale Andelt, David Muff.

Visitation at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 O Street, Monday, January 20, 5-7pm with family.

Services Tuesday January 21, 1pm, lunch following, graveside interment with military honors at Lincoln Memorial cemetery for those that want to attend.

Memorials to be designated by family later.
