Harold W. Smith Jr., 69, of Lincoln passed away on May 28, 2017. Born December 23, 1947 to Harold Sr. and Lucille (Cross) Smith in North Platte, NE. He was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran. Harold worked as a carman for Burlington Northern Railroad for 20+ years, and loved coaching his Special Olympic team, Team Lincoln Choo Choos.
Family members include his wife of 48 years, Linda Smith; children, Lisa (Jeffery) Orig, April (Jeremy) Hagerbaumer, Matthew (Sara) Smith, Alysa Smith (Zachary Foreman); grandchildren, Autumn, Mackenzie, Jayden, Hunter. Preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Maximo and Noah Smith-Orig.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Thursday (6-1-17) at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ St. Visitation with family greeting friends, 5-7p.m. Wednesday (5-31-17) at Roper and Sons Funeral Home. Burial held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery on Friday (6-2-17)
