Harold “Rudge” Vifquain

January 1, 1920 - June 24, 2015

Harold ‘Rudge’ Vifquain, age 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at The Grand Lodge at The Preserve, Lincoln.

Survivors: wife of 72 years, Dottie; daughters Terri Pomajzl (Steve) of Firth NE, Brenda Kruse (Dale) of Cabool MO.  5 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Brother-in-law Ken McCartney of Lincoln.  Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law Kent and Virginia Vifquain and his sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Joseph Long of Silver Spring, MD.

A proud WW II Veteran he was the great-grandson of General Victor Vifquain, Nebraska’s first Congressional Medal of Honor winner and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United State Army. He was a life time member of The American Legion. He retired from Bankers Life of Iowa now known as Principal Financial Group on December 31, 1984. Former member and President of Northeast Rotary and Golden K Kiwanis. Member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Lincoln.

Private Interment.  Family and friends gathering Monday, June 29, 5-7 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street  Service will be Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at Roper and Sons Chapel.

Memorials to People’s City Mission, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, or Aging Partners. A very special thank you to Tabitha Hospice and the wonderful Grand Lodge Family.
