Gloria Kay Umland, 83, of Eagle, Nebraska, passed away on November 28, 2024 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Born on August 6, 1941 in Waterville, Kansas, to Mary (Smith) and William Gier.

Gloria was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle, NE.

Gloria is survived by her husband Frank; daughters Debbie (Larry) Umland-Kimble of Lincoln, NE, Kimberly (Glen) Umland-Waddle of Stanton, NE, Genny (Lee) Straube of Lincoln, NE, and Vicki (Bob) Davis of Eagle, NE; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dean, and parents’-in-law, Herbert and Ruth Umland.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle, NE, officiated by Pastor Scott Porath.

Burial will be at a later date in the Eagle Cemetery.

Memorials designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.

High school friends of all the Umland girls were made to feel welcome and part of the family by both Gloria and Frank. We are blessed by our own enduring friendships, but also by the acceptance and support of their parents. So many fond memories of hanging out on the farm. Gloria was tough and tender in just the right measure.

Gloria was one of the happiest and joyful person we have ever had the privilege to know. Together with Frank they were a wonderful part of our lives. While she has gone ahead of us to meet our Savior and Creator, we know our separation is only temporary. We shall meet again. Frank be assured of our hugs and prayers.
