Obituary

Glen Uel Beeman

April 30, 1956 - February 2, 2025

Glen Uel Beeman, 68, of Eagle, Nebraska, passed away on February 2, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1956 to Uel and June (Wielage) Beeman. Glen grew up in Crete, Nebraska and graduated from Crete High School in 1974. Following high school, Glen spent 2 years taking auto body repair courses at Southeast Community College in Milford while working in the industry before starting his own auto-body repair shop, Beeman Automotive. Glen went on to own and operate Beeman Automotive for 42 years until selling the company in November 2021. He was also heavily involved with the Nebraska Auto Body Association, served on the Board at Southeast Community College, Milford, and dedicated countless hours serving the Woodland Hills HOA.

Glen dedicated his life to being a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. There was nothing that Glen would not do for those he loved. Some of Glen’s biggest joys were simple ones; playing golf, cooking, trips with family/friends, watching football, and finding victims to his pranks and quick wit. Above all else, Glen’s love and dedication to being a dad was unmatched, devoting countless hours traveling to, and attending, Mattea’s sporting events and activities, never missing an opportunity to be present in her life.

Glen embodied the phrases “actions speak louder than words” and “do it right the first time” and, because of this, his impact will forever be felt by those that were blessed enough to know, work with, and be loved, by him. He leaves a legacy of kindness, loyalty and lasting friendship.

Glen is survived by his wife, Holly; his daughter, Mattea; his sisters Colleen (Rex) Thonen, Marie (Gary) Rapp and Gail (Glenn) Sandmeyer; his brothers Ray (Diane) Beeman and Eric Beeman; 17 nieces and nephews; and 36 great nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Uel and June Beeman, and his sister, Ava Helgren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Sheridan Lutheran Church (6955 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln, NE 68516). There is no visitation. The family asks those that wish to make a tribute in Glen’s name do so to UNMC’s Oncology and Hematology Division Development Fund.

I wish to say how saddened I am to hear of Glen’s passing. I woke up at 2:00 AM this morning and laid awake thinking about all the good times the Kozlik and Beeman families had when we were growing up; the 7 Beeman and 5 Kozlik cousins. I look at how things seemed to be much simplier back then. Our family get togethers at the Holidays, weekends, and just hanging out with one another were treasured moments I think about often. Time and distance has made us lose contact with one another, but those days gone by will always remain in my memory. My condolences to Holly, Mattea and all the Beeman family. May Glen rest in peace. Love to you all.

We are so sorry about Glen, Holly. We appreciated his good service and being a great neighbor. Our car was damaged by a deer and we were leaving for Florida. We had to leave before it could be repaired so Glen repaired it and parked it in our garage. Joan and Ray McMahon

Holly……..our most sincere condolences go out to you and your family. We had the pleasure of being a neighbor to you all for several years and heard Glen talk many times about finishing your basement. Hope he was able to cross this off his to-do-list. Glen worked hard at everything he did and will certainly be missed.

I met Glen in 1993. We were neighbors at Woodland Hills, and formed a life long friendship. He was a successful businessman, meticulous in his work ethic, and a dedicated husband and father. My friend, you were taken too early, but will always be remembered. Condolences to Holly, Mattie and the rest of your family.

Glen and I were classmates at Southeast College and worked together on many projects there. Glen was always the prankster and I remember being on the receiving end of several of his tricks. We both opened our own shops about the same time and both sold our business and retired a month apart. We had stayed in contact with each other over the years and I will miss him while also being fortunate enough to have called him a friend. (Old picture of our class 1975)

A lot of great memories doing Y-Guides with the neighborhood dads and daughters; camping and camp activities at Camp Kitaki, derby car races, father-daughter dances, and canoeing down the Niobrara river. I’ll catch up with you on the other side in a few years my friend.
