Genevieve Rose Haug

Genevieve Rose Haug, 95, of Lincoln, passed away April 24, 2016. Born September 24, 1920 in Omaha, NE to Sten and Florence (Wagner) Freeland. Ret. Special Ed teacher in Cozad and Lexington and rural Elementary School Teacher outside of Cozad. Member of First United Methodist Church in Cozad, United Methodist Women, and thrift shop volunteer. Graduate of Kearney State Teacher’s College.

Family members include her sons, Steven (Gail) Haug, Omaha, James (Karen) Haug, Lincoln; daughters, Valerie (Hank) Dicke, Holdrege, Laura Haug, Omaha; grandchildren, Geoffrey Haug, Amy Miller, Alysson (Matthew) Tucker, Igor Haug, Yulia (Keith) Harrer, Mariya Haug; step-grandchildren, Stefanie (Jason) Gilbreth, Sara (Matthew) Baird, Shauna (Paul) Talbert, Scott (Rhonda) Dicke; 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Victor, mother, Florence Freeland, brother, Sten Freeland and  granddaughter, Sarah Wilke.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday (4-29-16)First United Methodist Church, 1515 B Street, Cozad, NE with Pastor Douglas Smith and Pastor Robert Neben officiating. Burial in the Cozad Cemetery.

Memorials to The Staff at The Arbors or The Staff of Hospice Community Care of Nebraska.

Visitation with family present from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ St. and one hour prior to service time at the church.
