Fred R. Potts

July 6, 1937 - December 22, 2011

Fred R. Potts, 74, Lincoln, joined his heavenly father on Thursday (12-22-11). Born (7-6-37) in Verdel, Nebraska, to Charles Dale and Gladys (Bellinger) Potts. Retired maintenance lead man at General Dynamics. Following retirement he was the maintenance man at Calvary Community Church where he was also a member. Loved God, his wife and family, church family, friends, Farmall tractors, boating and his new puppy, “Daisy.”

Family members include wife: Carolyn (Senn) Potts; children, spouses: Gini and Darrell Russell, Kevin and Brenda Potts, all of Lincoln, Kelley and Dave Hanau, Firth; grandchildren: Kevin (Nesha) Potts, Jr., Tyler Potts (Amanda Jordan), Jared (Lena) Wiggins, Erick (Jamie) Russell, Luke Russell (Liz Couch), Andrea Wiggins, Holly Hanau and Adam Hanau; great grandchildren: Blake and Landon Potts and Teagan Russell; sisters: Darlene Keller, LaPlata, MD, Sharon K. Buskirk and brother, Lester Potts, both of Lincoln. Preceded in death by parents, two infant sisters, brother Jerry Potts and sister Wilma Baldwin.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (12-27-11) Calvary Community Church, 4400 North 1st Street. Pastor Carl Godwin, officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to Calvary Community Church or Peoples’ City Mission Free Medical Clinic.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 “O” Street and one hour prior to service time at the church.
