After graduating from Humphrey St. Francis High School, he went on to study engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Frank worked as a Water Resources Advisor for Nebraska Public Power District for 34 years. After retiring, he continued his passion for water conservation by starting his own consulting company. Frank was also instrumental in establishing the Nebraska Water Balance Alliance.
Frank and his wife Susan were married in 1993 and together shared 32 years of marriage.
Frank loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. Frank never missed Tuesday Afternoon Club with the boys. Throughout his life, Frank enjoyed an active lifestyle including hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, and boating and enjoyed watching late night movies and playing cards. You could always count on him making the best nightcap: a Colorado Bulldog.
One of Frank’s proudest achievements was helping to establish the North Platte Community Daycare, which became a tremendous resource for working parents in North Platte. He continued his dedication to community service by participating in the local Sertoma Club. Frank was also passionate about his Catholic faith and was a faithful member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of North Platte and St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Lincoln. His faith was instrumental and a tremendous comfort in his final months.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Isidore and Helen Kwapnioski.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Susan, their children Andy (Kandy) Kwapnioski of Marysville, KS, Abby (Barrett) Brown of Denver, CO, and Jeff (Bailey) Baumann of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Wylde, Cash, and Ruby Kwapnioski, Joelle and Evelyn Baumann, his brother Vern (Mary) Kwapnioski of Columbus, NE, father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Joan Luebbe of Utica, NE, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed Frank’s family are for the numerous families, friends, colleagues, and neighbors who were there for Frank through his cancer journey.
