Foster was a lifelong resident of Lincoln and a graduate of University of Nebraska Lincoln. He married Sydna Fuchs on June 20, 1953, in Omaha, NE. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2011.
Foster served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He owned S. A. Foster Lumber Company for 41 years and was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Foster was active in several service, social and business organizations. He enjoyed many years of travel with his wife and family. His favorite place was his summer cabin his grandfather built on Star Island in Northern Minnesota.
Family members include daughters Marcia (Scott) Bloom and Sydna (Jack) Cooper; grandchildren Katie Lewis and Sydna Cooper, Mackenzie and Logan Bloom, and Seeley Mickelson; great-grandchildren Jackie Cooper, John and Kade Lewis, and Nora Mickelson.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Sydna, sisters Marcia and Suzanne.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday (5-28-22) Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive.
Prior private interment.
Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday (5-27-22) at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel.
