Florence Mitchell

February 14, 1913 - April 26, 2010

Florence Mitchell, 97, Lincoln, died comfortably and in peace Monday, April 26, 2010, after suffering an acute stroke. Born February 14, 1913, in Blair Nebraska to Carl and Matilda (Kuhn) Wolff.

After graduating from Creighton Nursing School in Omaha, Florence worked as a stewardess on the Union Pacific Chicago Zephyr. She and Howard moved to Lincoln in 1947 where Howard began his medical practice. Florence loved playing bridge with her friends at Lincoln Country Club and Gateway Manor. She was a source of strength for her family as well as the source of knowledge on all family events past, present, and future. She will be dearly missed by all.

Florence is survived by her brother Raymond, Newbern, NC. She also leaves behind her daughter Anne Mitchell, Concord, CA; sons, daughters-in-law: Bob and Karen Mitchell, Spartanburg, SC, Tom and Jaynie Mitchell, Sacramento, CA; granddaughter, spouse: Audrey and Tom Wineland, Gainesville, GA; grandson, spouse: Dennis and Suzanne Mitchell, Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter: Kelsey Mitchell, and grandson: Brian Mitchell, Sacramento, CA; great granddaughter: Madeleine Mitchell, great grandsons: Hilliard Mitchell, Spartanburg, SC and Josh Wineland, great granddaughter: Summer Wineland, both of Gainesville, GA.

Gone on before her was her loving husband Howard Mitchell. Also predeceased by sister Helen Moser and parents.
