Florence Janet Clark

February 20, 1920 - November 13, 2008

Florence Janet Clark, 88, resident of Legacy Terrace in Lincoln, died November 13, 2008. Born (2-20-20) in Wymore, NE to Chester Cleveland and Rosella (Biederman) Clark. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Nebraska. She taught in the Lincoln Public Schools and for a number of years was the Assistant Principal at Mickle Jr. High retiring in 1985.

She had lifetime memberships in the University of Nebraska Alumni Association, National Education Association, Nebraska Education Association, Alpha Delta Kappa and the Mayflower Society. She was a longtime secretary of the Nebraska Mayflower Society and held offices in Beta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa as well as serving a term as State President of the State Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.

She was interested in genealogy research and belonged to several historical and genealogical organizations. She was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church.

Survivors: nephews and nieces, Lawrence Danforth, Herndon, VA, William Danforth, Shenandoah, IA, Janet (Danforth) Bacon, Tulsa, OK, Dennis Clark, Valparaiso, NE and Pamela (Clark) Ozenbaugh, Missouri City, TX; great nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday (5-22-09) Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 6001 ‘A’ Street with Rev. Catherine Scott officiating. Burial of cremains in Shenandoah, Iowa 10:00 a.m. Saturday (5-23-2009).
