Fern (Bartsch) Ewert passed away January 28, 2021 at The Monarch Hospice House. Fern was born in Delft, Minnesota on February 2, 1931. She graduated from Grace Bible Institute and then received an RN from Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. In 1957 she married Ralph Ewert, then completing his MD, and they went to Congo as missionaries.
After their service they returned to Lincoln where Fern was very active in their church and her hobbies included gardening and sewing. She and Ralph enjoyed traveling and have visited all the States except Hawaii. Her greatest joys were her family, working with youth, and in her last years the Bible Studies she led in her retirement home.
She is survived by her husband Ralph, and daughters Susan, Miriam, Jeanne, and Rachel, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Lyle and her sister-in-law, Marilyn, and her brother Gene and his wife Phyllis.
Memorial Service, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Middle Cross (formerly Rosemont). Cremation/No visitation
