Eva L. Perrin, 94, was called home on Tuesday (6/29/10). Born 12/3/15 in Beaver City, Neb. to Roy and Sarah (Hand) Trunnell. Eva grew up in the sandhills of Nebraska. She married Vergil A. Perrin on July 1, 1940 in Ogallala, Neb. She was a ranchers wife, cooking for the hay and calving crew. She raised a huge garden and canned over a hundred jars of vegetables, fruit, and meats for the winters. She loved to crochet, make quilts, bake, and do seek-a-word books. She was a member of East Lincoln Christian Church, volunteering at the Senior Center in the old church at 27th and Y street. She attended the Northeast Senior Center before moving to Tabitha in January 2009.
She is survived by daughter: Pastor Eddie “Cookie” Rhoades-Everson and husband Mel of Lincoln; son: Hank and wife Linda of Bonner Springs, Kan; grandchildren: Lonna Walker, Tucson, Ariz; Lisa Ferguson and husband Kent, Lincoln; Leanna Roberson, Tempe Ariz.; Travis Calderwood and wife Dana, Kansas; great grandchildren: Amanda Stoffel, Rylie Calderwood, Kail Calderwood, Cordell Roberson, Chaunell Roberson, Jameelah Smith, Jessica Ferguson, Felicia Ferguson; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Charlie Trunnell, sisters, Florence Jones, Mildred Jones, Ethel Archer, Pearl Gidman; son-in-law, Larry Rhoades.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday (7/2/10), East Lincoln Christian Church, 7001 Edenton Road. Burial, 2 p.m. Saturday (7/3/10), Hyannis Cemetery, Hyannis, Neb.
Family will greet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. at Roper and Sons ‘O’ Street Chapel and one hour prior to the service time at the church.
