Ethel Carne Lux

Ethel Carne Lux, 88, of Lincoln, passed away March 2, 2016. Born January 13, 1928 in Pierce, NE to Douglas and Hazel (Taylor) Carne. Graduate of Lincoln Northeast High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University. Ethel was actively involved in the beginning phase and former board member of Lux Center for the Arts. She also was former chair for Lincoln Manor. Member of First United Methodist Church.

Family members include her children and spouses, Linda and Brian Striman, David and Lynn Lux, Barbara and Frank Almquist, Michael Lux and Barbara Laur; 13 grandchildren, Eric and Jennifer Almquist, Matthew and Francesca Almquist, Ryan Almquist, Steven Almquist, Joshua and Nina Lux, Lisa and Grant Shangreaux Lux, Emily Lux, Becca Striman and Heather Bonet; 10 great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Caleb, Lydia, Savannah, Josslyn, Josiah Almquist, Rebecca, Ehan, Aiden and Lincoln Lux; twin-sister, Beth M. McCoy; brother, Jerry Carne. Preceded in death by parents, husband, John E. Lux, son, Kevin Pogue, brothers, John and George, sister, Rosella.

Prior graveside service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday (3-5-16) Fairview Cemetery, 84th & Adams St. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 1144 ‘M’ Street.

Memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Saint Paul United Methodist Church or Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools. Visitation with family present will be Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ St.
