Emma Jo Seifert Knight

May 8, 1923 - March 21, 2011

Emma Jo Seifert Knight, 87, Lincoln, died Monday (3-21-11). Born (5-8-23) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Charles Edward and Anna (Gass) Seifert. Homemaker.

Attended the Lincoln Public Schools, Stephens College and the University of Nebraska. Her memberships include Delta Gamma, 50-50 Dance Club, Luke Lavender Quester, Heritage League, First United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. Served on the boards of the American Red Cross and the Lincoln YWCA and Past President of the Northeast Lincoln Rotary Anns. Emma traveled extensively with her husband Bus and enjoyed reading, various hand and needle work and bridge.

Family members include daughter: Kathleen Benton, Littleton, CO; sons, daughters-in-law: George E. and Linda Knight, Peoria, AZ, Samuel C. and Pam Knight, Del Mar, CA; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister: Gretchen Seifert , Beaverton, OR; sisters-in-law: Maxine Seifert, Mill Valley, CA, Ruth Knight, Omaha, NE brother-in-law, sister-in-law: Chick and Norma Knight, Benedict, Minnesota,; nieces and nephews; cousin: Jack Bullington, Columbus, NE. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 66 years, George “Bus” Knight, parents, son James Allen and brother Samuel Seifert, sister-in-law Dorothy Gewacke, son-in-law Dick Benton.

Celebration of Life Service – 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, Grand Lodge at the Preserve, 4400 South 80th Street.

Memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 2723 North 50th Street, Lincoln, NE 68504 or donor’s charity of choice.

No Visitation/Cremation.
