Duaine M. “Sonny” Grant, 75, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 31, 2015. Born June 24, 1940 in Lincoln, NE to Vern and Esther (Busch) Grant. Sonny was a huge Husker and Royals fan. Loved time spent with family.
Always lived life to the fullest by his ability to joke around and make people laugh up until the very end. He was a very thoughtful and giving person. Ret. machine operator, Sampson Construction.
Family includes wife, Judy of Lincoln, children, Carrie (Jody) Olson of Friendsville, TN, Debbie (Rick) Bentz of Independence, MO, Rodney (Amber) Grant of Lincoln, NE, Michelle (Justin) Abercrombie, of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, siblings Sandra (John) Hruza of Lincoln, Vickie Carper of Firth, NE, Ronald (Mary) Messman of Denton, NE, Peggy (Matt) Fouts of Lincoln, and David (Shelia) Messman of Denton, NE; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandchildren, Taylor Olson and Katy Grant.
Funeral Services to held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln.
Visitation to be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Memorials to the family for future designation. The family requests Husker or Casual attire.
