Dr. Tom Dworak

August 14, 1923 - July 10, 2012

Dr. Tom Dworak, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 is now rejoicing in Heaven with his Savior. He would have been 89 on August 14, 2012.

Tom is loved by his wife, Pat; his children Kathy Bowman and her husband Don, Doug Dworak and his wife Shirley, Scott Dworak and his wife Kathy, and Mike Dworak and his wife Ellen; 18 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren, as well as, all of his other extended family members and friends.

Tom graduated from the University of Nebraska Dental College in 1945 and spent 57 years in the profession that he loved. He served 2 years in the Navy as a dentist. Upon his retirement from private practice in 2000 he returned to the Dental College and taught for 5 years. His relationship with the Dental students was one he cherished. Tom loved all sports and actively participated in Basketball, Golf, Tennis and Softball. Tom also coached many youth teams. In 1971 his life changed radically when he became a born again Christian, trusting Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. He became a student of the Bible and taught Bible studies for many years. He was passionately involved in the lives of his huge family and took great joy in encouraging them in their spiritual, academic, music and athletic endeavors. In addition, his ministry of encouragement overflowed into the lives of his patients, students and friends. Tom and his wife founded and owned Maranatha Christian Resource Center and have been long time members of Faith Bible Church.

His home-going celebration will be held Sunday, July 15th at Faith Bible Church, 6201 So. 84th street at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers it was his desire that memorials gifts be made to Lincoln Christian School, Tiny Hands International and Faith Bible Church.
