The first born of Dr. Kenneth Holland Sr. and Naomi (Wagner) Holland, he grew up in Lincoln with his parents, brother John, and sister Jane. Upon graduating High School, he attended the University of Nebraska for dentistry, then took a commission in the United States Navy as a Dental Officer, proudly serving his country for eighteen years and reaching the rank of Commander.
Ken followed in his Father’s footsteps to become an Orthodontist and specialized in Temporomandibular Joint Disorders. Ken practiced in Lincoln, Columbus, Norfolk, Albion, and David City, Nebraska, before moving his family to Arizona. There he continued to see patients until finally retiring in 2015 to move back to Columbus, NE to be closer to family and help care for his grandchildren.
Ken loved reading (especially science fiction), being outdoors around the water, working with his hands, and spending time with his grandchildren (they always brought a sparkle to his eye)!
Ken is survived by: Brother, John (Carole) Holland; Sister Jane (Bill) Hutchinson; Son, Chris (Dina) Holland grandchildren, Lilyana and Noah of Lincoln; Daughter, Amanda (Brian) Eckenroth; grandchild, Adelaide;
Daughter, Clavel Holland-Williams; grandchildren, Malorie, Sebastian, Bailey, and Sean of Arizona and Nebraska; Son, William Holland of Lincoln; Daughter, Tamar (Justin) Brandenburgh-Noble; grandchildren, Phillip and Benjamin of Bellwood.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents Ken and Naomi Holland, daughter Jasmine Holland, grandson Micheal Crooks, and granddaughter Mireyas Holland.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 5th from 4-6 pm at the Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel (4300 ‘O’ Street). Rosary to follow at 6 pm.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6th at 2pm., also at the Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel.
Graveside with military funeral honors at Wyuka Cemetery, following the service.
