Dr. Derryl (Doc) Ogden, 74, Lincoln, died Thursday (4-3-2008) after a very courageous battle with cancer the past six years. Born Lincoln, NE (3-17-1934) to Edwin and Virginia (Rees) Ogden. Derryl spent 70 years of his life in Lincoln, graduating from UNL School of Dentistry in 1958. While practicing dentistry for 47 years in Lincoln, he also taught in the oral surgery and prosthetics department at the dental college.
Survivors include wife of 51 years, Margaret; son, daughter-in-law: Dr. Ron and Denise Ogden, Lincoln; daughters, son-in-law: Kathy and Randy Neall, Hendersonville, NC; Laura Fenton, Overland Park, KS; sister: Dr. Merlene Ogden, Berrien Springs, MI; sister-in-law: Barbara Burton, Lincoln; five grandchildren: Christopher and Samantha Ogden; Jennifer Fenton; Jesse and Joshua Maddox.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Sunday (4-6-2008) College View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4801 Prescott Ave. Pastor Terry Bock officiating.
Memorial gifts to Hospice of Tabitha; Saint Elizabeth’s Radiation/Oncology Unit or College View Seventh-day Adventist Church Building Fund.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday with family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street and one hour prior to service time at the Church.
