Dr. Daniel Allen "Dan" Klein

KLEIN, Dr. Daniel Allen “Dan”, age 82, 1943 – 2025 formerly of Grand Rapids MI passed away November 25, 2025.

Graduate of Battle Creek Academy in 1961, BS from Andrews University in 1967 and Master’s and Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1970. Returning to Andrews University as a professor. Having moved to Lincoln Nebraska to teach at Union College in 1981, Dan was always an active member of College View SDA Church.

Dan was a co-owner of Regal Building Systems and The Waterford Communities Assisted Living. He served for decades at College View SDA Church as Elder and Board Member.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Daniel L. Klein, mother, Elizabeth Clark, Brother, Tom Klein. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Klein; children Dan Klein, Jr (Lisa), Michelle Fortney (Marty), Dave Klein (Sheila); 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Sister Joy Thon, and Brother Jack Burns.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care by the staff at the Waterford Communities Assisted Living and Endless Journey Hospice. Mr. Dan and Mrs. Sharon always welcomed me and noticed me as single mom trying to raise my children for Jesus. I feel very blessed to know them. Mr. Dan truly lived his faith and love for Jesus. Mrs. Sharon and family I am so deeply sorry for your loss and await Jesus return with you.
