Doris M. Von Seggern

August 11, 1927 - June 30, 2011

Doris Maxine (Oberhauser) Von Seggern, 83, of Lincoln, passed away June 30th, 2011. Born August 11, 1927 in Eustis, Neb. to Milton and Freida (Kugler) Oberhauser. Doris married Robert “Bob” Von Seggern on October 23rd, 1948. Her passions were quilting, flower gardening, reading and listening to Guy Lombardo’s orchestra. Doris was a member of the Lincoln Quilt Guild, Nebraska State Quilt Guild, and Eastridge Presbyterian Church. Doris was one of the original members of the Nebraska Quilt Project devoting many hours of research and photography of thousands of quilts over several years. Nebraska Quilt Project Team paved the way for the formation of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum of which, Doris was a member.

Family members include son, Doug and wife Lee Anne and granddaughters, Kylie and Lindsey, Lincoln; son, Alan and his wife Wilma, Minden; brother, Glen Oberhauser and his wife Marilyn, Eustis; sister, Joan “Jo” Young and her husband Bob, Lake Forest, N.J.; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, and husband Robert.

Gathering of family and friends will be held Friday August 19th, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum, 1523 N. 33rd St. Lincoln. Doris has been laid to rest with her husband Robert at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Columbarium in Lincoln.

Memorials may be given to the International Quilt Study Center & Museum.
